Verse 1: Why do we have leaders when they can’t lead a line? Who knows exactly what to do? How do you believe when all the words out of your mouth are lies? What’s in the future if the past is to go by? Chorus: So little time to put all things right Open your eyes to see our demise Well a promise said ain’t a promise kept They’re two separate things so don’t hold your breath And if there’s no news it’s good news for no one Verse 2: Anyone can see things aren’t where they’re supposed to be, How do you sleep with your own mess? Why would I ever give the time or day to forget, That you’re stuck with your own skin? Pre 2: It’s too much (cause when it’s over) It’s just too much (it’s never over) It’s just too much (cause when it’s over) It’s just too much (it’s NEVER over) Chorus 1 Chorus 2: Can’t understand, how you trust this man Faith in his hands means no safety when he lands And a promise said ain’t a promise kept They’re two separate things so don’t hold your breath And if there’s no news IT’S GOOD!

Jynx 03:52
Verse 1: I love my dead but not tangibly, the necrophiliacs get all the fun. I’m just betting, with enough endorsement, this could easily become the norm Pre 1: I’m not saying that I am perfect, or have the arse to want to flaunt it. I’m intrigued to see if this would sell, to the blind or has it already? Chorus 1: What on Earth has happened? Real life meaning seems invalid It’s hard to ignore with no power Verse 2: In desperate need of recovery, we’re in an industry of eye candy. Money for doing nothing. Better off understanding Vincent Van Gogh Pre 2: No one really cares if they can’t speak, as long as there is alcohol and plastic. Buying in and selling out is fine. What’s the point if you’re not ‘making it’ right? Chorus 2: What on Earth has happened? Really life meaning seems invalid It’s hard to ignore with no power Benefits from past achievements Zombie halfwits, poor investments It’s hard to ignore with no power

Ambient Wind 03:07
Verse 1: Ambient wind, it flies by every six years, then blows away again. Taking with the memories created, that last eternity Chorus 1: No one can replicate what’s been done here The legacies far outweigh all the tears Verse 2: The ambient wind, it doesn’t take too much to be completely satisfied. Food and sock will do but cards don’t quite suffice, wasted morning light. Chorus 2: No one can replicate what’s been done here The legacies far outweigh all the tears. Everything’s lead up to this moment To be prepared for what’s coming round…. Bridge: the bend The bend Chorus 1: No one can replicate what’s been done here The legacies far outweigh the tears Verse 3: Oh ambient wind, it’s been a pleasure as always.

6.
Verse 1: Sometimes, when there is a moment, no one wants anything to distract But when in Rome, there’s no need to breathe. All the angels live here Chorus: Lost for words; skinned alive. Going back, too soon Verse 2: When time leaves a hole, hope to meet and see the soul again Chorus too soon Chorus Verse 3: Blood feels the same way as light, coming back is never bittersweet.
7.
Verse 1: Get from underneath skin, pressure’s added in but, it keeps coming, coming back. Doing all the things read, in the magazines they, don’t seem to work with this type; with this type. Chorus: No matter what, matters what the risk. Who, can’t get rid of this? Verse 2: There’s times of relief and, moments of triumph but, it’s too rare and far between. Was it something taken? Was it something done? Either way or neither way, it’s always around. Chorus Soft Chorus Who… x3 Can’t get rid of this No matter what x3
8.
Verse 1: Again, back again, but in a different way A rainy location but realized the same A lack of knowledge and a lack of words have lead to the downfall again Chorus: Yes there were moments, but not nearly enough That damn achilles heel that damn crooked lid Reverse lions, they haunt and they strike It’s early before it’s night Chorus Verse 2: It wasn’t gonna be easy. Parachutes taught that. And yet hope seemed to linger, positively back A sense that maybe, yes just maybe, everything would be alright. Everything would be alirght Chorus

10.
True Lies 03:39
A Section: Get the mind and get the whole body and change it all, change everything Your thoughts, your words are lower than the low Clear the page and clean your tongue Never rely, never rely, on someone else Never rely, never rely, on someone else B Section: The way it is, the way it is, The way it is, the way it is, Faker than the self, faker than the self Faker than the self, faker than the self Never rely
11.
Nala 04:56
Verse 1: It wasn’t cold or warm, just a normal day, When the sight of stripes and red forever will stay… Pre 1: ‘The one’ that got away because of the feeling of poultry Perhaps this has to do with the fact that no one’s gonna be… Chorus: Oh Nala come back to the lonely guy After that, it’s complete and everything’s alright Verse 2: There’s something about a good track to get all back in tune No act how small is ever wasted when it comes to… Pre 2: Being with the feeling like it is always a dream But it’s reality so be lucky that it’s here to begin with Chorus 2: Oh Nala come back to the lonely guy After that, it’s complete and everything’s alright Oh Nala please come back to the lonesome side Sooner’s better much better to finally live the life Verse 3: Familiar perfumes and colours, trigger vividly, All locations and positions that Nala used to be. Pre 3: It’s getting harder not to be weaker without a better half, Being ever present to prevent the bad things to start Chorus
12.
13.
Clothesline 04:39
Verse 1: I have my mind, I have my tongue, I have the world upon my shoulders, you have your gun. I want to lead, not be lead out. Can I be right and you be left for good without a doubt? Pre 1: I want to go, go, go… Verse 2: There’s always a will, so where is my way? If there’s no blood on the wound don’t worry that’s what you say. Pre 2: Time I should go, go, go. Chorus: For every time that I was pushed aside and questioned why, For every time I sucked it up and gave it one more try, What am I to do? Nothing here came true. Just leave me out here on the clothesline left to dry Verse 3: I can’t escape, and I won’t commit. I’m so frustrated I wasted my time now I won’t quit Pre 3: Please let me go, go, go. Chorus Bridge: What a day, such a day. All that’s wrong with, what’s wrong at all Chorus
14.
Verse 1: It’s so hard to leave but it’s the only choice, it’s all that’s left Time will wait for a few, but in the end it’s a waste of time Pre 1: Why oh why, did it drag on, did it drag for so long? Chorus: How long before, the break up then the ignore? Why were there lies; say it’s sweet then say goodbyes? It’s all from need Verse 2: No one looks forward to the day to look forward and start again The perfect gardener injects, planting seeds of doubt that keep growing now Pre 2: Hands they will tell, was it heaven or was it hell? Chorus x2 Coda: It’s all from need (isn’t it?) x3
15.
More Nothing 05:53
Verse 1: Beautiful blue case, beautiful lies, beautiful England. Close to a kindness, forever there, always there. Pre 1: If you’re wrong you’ll survive, at least you’ll be doing something right. Help me to help you, once was a worm now just misery Verse 2: Bad is easy to, believe briefly, but not really. Worth being tired for, and it was, and I was. Pre 2: Messages aren’t so clear, but I’m still here, and can still hear. Work and pleasure don’t mix, questioning if all this even matters, even matters Bridge: oo Verse 3: Beautiful blue case, beautiful lies, beautiful England. Worth being tired for, and it was, and I was. Chorus 3: If you’re wrong you’ll survive, at least you’ll be doing something right. Help me to help you, once was a worm now just misery Messages aren’t so clear, but I’m still here, and can still hear. Work and pleasure don’t mix, questioning if all this even matters… Bridge

about

On May 27th, Empty Fish Tank A.K.A Anthony Silvestrini will release Commercial Music, the second release from the Blue Mountains based act.

“Commercial music” refers to that particularly icky strain of Madison Avenue, where instead of paying an artist for a well known song, they'll write replica versions just different enough to be legally safe to use.

When Anthony started writing music for his second album, unbeknownst to him he had written a whole album's worth of this commercial music. Van Morrison, Wilco, Crowded House, Stephen Malkmus, Augie March, Neutral Milk Hotel, Paul Dempsey, The National – all major influences had been whittled down to their base elements. While working with his producer and brother Leonardo Silvestrini to mould the songs into Anthony's own voice, the initial conceptual accident stuck.

The pair made ad jingles remixed from long-forgotten examples of the genuine article, and the album became an exploration of the line between art, commerce and what is considered “commercial” in today's musical climate.

Outside of the album's subtext however, you have 11 varied indie-pop tunes – including the amphetamine hoedown “Good New For No One”, the orchestrated declaration of doubt “True Lies”, the pure-form 60s R & B “Nala”, the impostor rock “Jynx” - recorded as a D.I.Y labour of fun and love for Anthony and his regular backing band, with Australian music legend Paul McKercher mixing the album with his deft touch.

THANK YOUS:
Biggest thanks goes to my brother and best friend Leonardo aka Prince Dude of Finland. He had to sift through A LOT of bad demos to make the songs what they are. Even though there were a few dummy spits (mainly from me), we got through this process and made something
we’re really proud of. So thank you Leo, it’s truly been the best experience I’ve had making music and I’m glad
you were there riding shotgun.
To the incredible musicians that added their talents to these songs - THANK YOU! Giving up your time for pre-production, recording however many parts, and doing it for pure friendship (and maybe a lunch) means so much to me that I can’t thank you enough.
A huge cheers to Paul! You are a magician at the desk!
John Field for letting me record on his beautiful piano at Moomaluma.
Chrischris and Davedave Walker for letting me borrow equipment and for always being evocative and hectic. ‘Rock “N” Roll’ Boyz!
William ‘King Willy Sound’ Bowden, cheers for mastering and adding the icing. The Stormers and Brightside Music for giving me countless gigs to keep sharing my tunes. THANKS!
To Mr Paps, Mumzy, Zia Sofia & Doge - thank you for your constant love and support. I’m SO fortunate to have a family that loves me and comes to gigs and listens to my music and everything else you do.
To my NEW family the Sebastians! Thank you for taking me in with open arms. It means a lot and I feel very welcome.
Finally to my two girls Tyrine and Taiyana, words will never articulate how much you both mean to me. I thank God every night that you both came into my life. I’ve never been happier and it’s because of you both!
Mahal kita Cotton and Best Friend.
I thank anyone who is reading this and still supports the music. It truly means a lot and it’s why I keep creating so cheers!
